Karma as Part of the Spiritual Path

When people speak about karma, they often mix several concepts at once: fate, punishment, life trials, and spiritual lessons. Within the teaching of Lilith, it is important to separate these things. Otherwise, a person begins to see “karma” where the soul is actually being taught.

Fate, karma, and the karmic lesson

Fate is the broadest concept. It can include many things: the soul’s choice, the circumstances of birth, encounters, trials, karmic knots, and lessons. But fate is not reduced to karma alone.

Karma is the response to consciously caused evil. Simply put, it is punishment for an action that the person himself understood as bad and would not want to experience in the role of the recipient.

A karmic lesson is something else. It is not punishment, but a hint from the higher forces. It comes when a person has caused pain or heaviness to another, but has not realized the depth of his action. He is shown what exactly was painful, so the soul can understand, correct, and not repeat it again.

Karma is payment for conscious evil.
A karmic lesson is learning through experience that reveals a person’s mistake.

Examples

If a person stole money and understood that he was committing evil, the response may come as karma. And not necessarily in the form of financial loss: the punishment may manifest differently.

If a parent forced a child to give up important communication, thinking that he was acting “for the best,” but caused deep trauma by doing so, this may return as a karmic lesson. Not necessarily as punishment, but as an experience that will allow the person to feel and realize the weight of such an action.

Karma restrains a person from evil intentions and actions.
A karmic lesson directs the soul toward development.

Karma in the teaching of Lilith and world religions

Within the teaching of Lilith, karma and karmic lessons are regarded as real phenomena of the spiritual path. They do not belong to one religion alone. Different traditions may use different words, but the idea of a spiritual response to actions and the teaching of the soul is widely present.

That is why the question “which religion has karma” is not always precise. In some systems it is called karma; in others, retribution, trial, lesson, consequence of sin, or spiritual correction.

Can karma be avoided?

A karmic lesson cannot be avoided, because the soul itself chooses development and the path of learning the consequences of its actions. A lesson can be passed through more gently if a person understands its meaning, accepts the hint, and changes his action.

Karma as punishment is difficult to avoid, but in certain spiritual systems, protection, mitigation, or cancellation of the karmic response may be possible for those who are under the patronage of certain forces and consciously serve them.

Important: this does not cancel responsibility. If a person does not understand that he is committing evil, which is the key point, the situation may move not into karma, but into a karmic lesson, because the soul needs not only to receive a response, but also to realize the mistake itself.

The role of Lilith

Lilith is directly connected with the theme of karma and karmic lessons.

As a force connected, among other things, with the dark hierarchies, Lilith can help a person pass through lessons — not as blind punishment, but as a precise hint about where the soul has made a mistake.

She can lead a person through difficult experience so that he sees his mistake, stops repeating a destructive scenario, and becomes more honest with himself.

In relation to karma, Lilith may also act as a protector of her wards. But such protection does not mean the right to do evil without understanding the fact of committing evil and without perceiving it as evil. Serving Lilith requires clarity: a person must understand what he is doing and whom he serves.

The conclusion is simple:

  • Fate is the broad path of the soul.
  • Karma is the response to conscious evil.
  • A karmic lesson is learning through experience.
Lilith can help a person pass through a lesson, soften the blow, or protect her ward, but she does not cancel the need for spiritual honesty itself.
